Are electric diffusers safe?

With any product that we use in our home and around our children and pets, it is important to consider any safety implications.   So here we discuss what are the concerns over Electric Diffuser Safety.

DIFFUSER SAFETY

There are three main concerns.

  1. The safety of the diffuser itself. Low quality, cheap diffusers can malfunction and any diffuser that uses heat or a flame can cause burns.
  2. Electric diffusers that use water have safety concerns because the water, if left to stagnate can cause bacteria and microbes to develop and diffuse into the air
  3. Is it safe to inhale the oils once diffused and are they safe for children and pets

Let’s look at how the diffusers at Aroma Collection work and how they alleviate any safety concerns.

Aroma Collection diffusers use nebulizing technology.   This means it uses cold air and no heat, just an internal air filter to diffuse essential oils into micro mist which is dry and leaves no residue.  The particles diffused are so small they are easily absorbed by the body.   This technology ensures that fragrances cover spaces far larger than candles, reed diffusers or water-based diffusers.   There is no risk of bacteria build up although it is advisable to clean the diffuser regularly with pure alcohol to ensure it is kept in great working order.   Aroma Collection diffusers are safer, more efficient, and effective than ultrasonic and reed diffusers.   Whilst they may be more costly, this efficiency and effectiveness will save money.

Aroma Collection diffusers are not just aesthetically pleasing, they are safe, clean, and reliable.  They are controlled by a remote control to ensure that you can set the time and the intensity to suit your home and your needs.

SAFETY TIPS

  1. Avoid cheap diffusers – you get what you pay for.
  2. Clean your Aroma Collection diffuser regularly (once every 2 months should be sufficient) with pure alcohol.
  3. Choose top quality oils to diffuse
  4. Use in a well-ventilated space
  5. If you suffer from asthma or any lung conditions, please use with precaution and cease use if the diffuser seems to make your symptoms worse

ARE THEY SAFE FOR CHILDREN AND PETS

We would recommend that in the first three months of a pregnancy to avoid diffuser use.   There is no reason why it can’t be used during that period, but just to ensure that all precautions are taken.

Normal safety precautions around essential oils apply.  Such as avoiding contact with skin, do not ingest, keep away from flames.   This is particularly applicable when it comes to children and pets, so you should ensure that your oils are stored safety, away from pets and children.   Place your diffuser in an area where they cannot knock it over to avoid any spillage and mop up any spillage immediately.

Aroma Collection diffusers and oils are safe for children, but we would suggest that the diffuser is used in a well-ventilated space with an open door so that your pet can leave the room when he or she chooses.
